A consensus builder.
Whether as a business professional, a mom, or a community volunteer, that’s who Kay Dugery is at heart.
And that’s what we need now more than ever in Harrisburg fighting for our families – someone willing to put aside political games, unite people behind common goals, and work to get things done that help us.
As the mom of three children, Kay’s focus is like every parent’s: preparing her children for life, fighting for their safety, worrying about their future. Really, all the things we want our State Representative to focus on in Harrisburg for every person, every family, and every child.
As a successful business professional with nearly 20 years of real-world experience, Kay has proven her ability at bringing people together to achieve positive results.
As an active volunteer in our community and her church – volunteering to help the homeless and working to make our community greater than it already is – Kay knows how to bring people together.
Kay also believes that to get better government, the people’s voice must be heard through a trusted election system and better representation. That’s why she has volunteered for years as a local Judge of Elections in our community.
Now Kay is called to do even more for all of us – her neighbors – by running for State Representative. And in Harrisburg, she will focus on the things we care about most.
Kay knows a quality education that prioritizes teaching the skills children need to succeed is vital to not only their future, but Pennsylvania’s. And she knows that comes through investment, accountability, and parental involvement – the things she will fight for in Harrisburg.
She knows access to good-paying jobs is the key to the success of our families. As State Representative, Kay will use her real-world experience to help small businesses, entrepreneurs, and job creators grow our economy and provide those jobs.
Kay understands how inflation and the rising cost of everything from food to gas to utilities is making it harder for people to get by. In Harrisburg, she will be a strong fiscal watchdog making sure government isn’t over-spending – which is one of the main drivers of inflation. Her goal is simple: make life a little easier for everyone.
She understands the other concerns of our families as well – safety, the rising cost of healthcare, increasing drug use, protecting our property values and so much more. That’s why on every issue she will ask a simple question: what will help people the most?
Getting tough on drug dealers AND fighting for addiction treatment funding? Yes.
Bringing more competition to the insurance market to reduce costs and working to increase access to medical care? Yes.
Supporting our police, fire fighters and EMTs? Yes.
Kay’s approach to issues is like the people she wants to represent, because she’s like the people she wants to represent.
She and her husband, Peter, met in graduate school and chose to settle in Haverford over two decades ago to raise their family because of how special our community is. Together, they raised their three children – Joey, Petey, and Maggie – in the same neighborhoods as all of us.
Perhaps most important, Kay is like so many of us in the most important way: She’s tired of the constant political fighting and tired of nothing real getting done. Like us, Kay yearns for a return of sanity and common sense to our government. That’s what she will work for as our State Representative.
